Tapas Centrales de Rueda para Toyota Tacoma

Toyota Tacoma Wheel Center Caps

Whether you drive your Toyota Tacoma on city streets or country roads, there are ruts and potholes that give your wheels a jolt. If you lose or damage one of your wheel center caps, you can easily find OEM replacements for any model year.

What is the purpose of wheel center caps?

Wheel center caps are both decorative and functional. The caps finish off each wheel and give your truck a polished look. They also help keep water and dirt out of the wheel bearings and off the hub nut.

How do you choose the right Tacoma center caps?

There are several different factory caps that Toyota has used for the Tacoma trucks. Many of them are only suitable for use with a single type of factory wheel. This makes it very important to be sure you’re getting the right center cap.

You need the part number from one of the center caps that is still on your truck. On the back, you’ll see a string of letters and numbers. Have this on hand when you’re shopping, and match it to the new part to be sure it’s the right fit.

What are the characteristics of Tacoma center caps?

The center caps for these Toyota pickups are either round, with holes for the lug nuts, or spoked, with the nuts being exposed between the spokes. The spoked styles may have five or six spokes, depending on whether the wheels have five or six nuts.

Tacoma center caps may be silver, gray, black, chrome, or a combination of these. Most have the Toyota emblem in the center, but a couple have the word “Toyota” instead. If your truck is a TRD model, it will have these letters on the cap.

The following is a brief description of the center caps across the model years:

  • 1995 - 2000: These caps have six spokes, are silver with a central emblem, and are 5.25 inches in diameter.
  • 2001 - 2004: Center caps for these model years are round and silver, with five or six holes for the lugs. They have either the emblem or “Toyota” in the center, depending on the model.
  • 2005 - 2015: These caps are round with six lug holes, five-spoked, or six-spoked, depending on the model. They are silver or brushed chrome with a central emblem. They are 5.5 inches in diameter.
  • 2016 - 2017: These center caps have six spokes. They may be gray, charcoal, or black plastic with a chrome emblem or red “TRD” in the center. They are 5.5 inches in diameter.
How do you replace center caps on a Toyota Tacoma?

You may be able to pop the center caps off from the front of the wheels. You can use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry them off. If they’re stubborn, or you don’t want to risk marring the finish, take the wheels off and push the caps out from the back. To install the center caps, just push them on. They have clips on the back that snap into place.
