Interior Switches Controls for Chevrolet HHR

The Chevrolet HHR is a reliable vehicle to drive that also sports a spacious cargo area. This model also comes with multiple switches that enable you to access many of the Chevrolets core functions and features.

How do you check the Chevrolet power window switches?

Do the following to your Chevrolet to access the power window switches:

  • Below each switch is a rubber insert that must be removed. Once its removed, use a butter knife to press both slots to release the clips and then pull from both sides to release the top clips.
  • The Trans Shifter assembly has a chrome plastic ring that must be removed. Pull up a little and it should come loose.
  • You will see a plate with an outer bezel covering that must be removed.
  • The harness that goes to the window switches can be removed.
  • View the contacts for corrosion and for any issues with the wiring. Remove any corrosion, but wire problems or other issues may warrant a new switch for your Chevrolet.
How do you replace the turn signal canceling feature?

Before turning a corner in your HHR, you flip the turn signal switch. Once the turn is complete, the switch returns to its normal position and turns off the turn signal. If the canceling feature isnt working, you can use a small screwdriver to remove the covering to the instrument panel. If no screws are present, you may be able to pry it out. After the panel is removed, do the following:

  • Remove the screws at the bottom of the steering column with a 7mm socket.
  • Lift off the top of the steering column.
  • Disconnect the two wiring harnesses and release the retaining clips with a screwdriver.
  • Replace the old switch with a new one.
  • Reassemble the panels that were initially removed.
  • Take the car for a test drive to see if the HHRs signal is working.
How do you replace a cruise control switch?

Replacing the Chevrolet cruise control switch for your HHR, which is essentially a set of buttons, is fairly simple on a Chevrolet and may be needed after a few years. You will need to remove the panel surrounding the buttons. Look for screws behind the steering wheel before trying to pry it off. Once the cover is off, you can disconnect the buttons. Install the new buttons exactly how you removed the old ones, replace the panel, and take the car for a drive. If the cruise control still doesnt work, the issue with the HHR may be much deeper. Before doing any of the aforementioned steps, check the fuse. The interior fuse box of the HHR is located under the dash on the passenger side of the console.
